Ok!
I’ll just give you a few snippets and let you weave the story (going to bed in a minute - got a 2am alarm call, going to work real early!!).
He was a major influence to surfers over here when he starred in the 1976 film Free Ride with Shaun Tompson.

The 1981 ProAm contest was the first pro contest to be held in the UK - everyone was stoked to hear that he would be competing, along with Shaun.

Good surf all week, then it went flat for the final, so Rabbit and Cheyne Horan were declared joint winners.
Big crowds all week (10,000 + everyday and 50,000 + on the day of the Radio 1 roadshow with Tony Blackburn).

Wavelength magazine was launched by JC and myself during the contest week, so I was running around shooting pics and doing promo work for the mag.
Contest got good press all over the world, and finally put British surfing “on the map”.
Can’t think of much else right now, suggest you have a word with Nigel Semmens!
Gotta get some zzzzzzz’s - back Wednesday eve.
Geoff.

PS> get signed up for Fantasy Surfer, it kicks off sooner than you think, join the Surftwisted Clubhouse and get beat !
